Deadline Berlinale Film Festival – deadline pentru filmele de scurt metraj de ficțiune, documentar, experimentalși de animație cu o durată de maximum 30′; 9 – 19 februarie 2017, Berlin, Germania  (detalii)

Since 1955, the Berlinale awards the Golden and the Silver Bear for short films, since 2003 with a dedicated international jury, which developed out of the Panorama Short Film Jury, founded in 1990. In 2006 the short film programmes of Competition and Panorama were merged into a single section. With the introduction of a separate section, the festival management wanted to underscore the importance of short films for the film industry in general.

Deadline HOTDOCS- Canadian International Documentary Festival–early deadline, genuri acceptate: filme documentare de scurt, mediu și lung metraj; 27 aprilie – 7 mai 2017  (mai multe detalii)

Filmele trebuie să fi avut premiera după 1 ianuarie 2016, să nu fi fost proiectate în Toronto, cu subtitluri în engleză.

Hot Docs features two juried competition programs, Canadian Spectrum and International Spectrum, and several non-competitive programs. Feature-length films in the Spectrum programs are eligible for jury prizes.
All selected short and mid-length films (except those in retrospective categories) will be considered by the jury.
All feature films selected for Hot Docs, with the exception of those screening in retrospective programs, are eligible for the Audience Award.
Hot Docs is recognized as a qualifying festival for the Academy Awards® in the Documentary Short Subject category. The winner of the Best Short Documentary at this year’s Festival will qualify for consideration in the Documentary Short Subject category of the annual Academy Awards® without the standard theatrical run, provided the film otherwise complies with the Academy rules.

Hot Docs is also BAFTA-recognized festival, acknowledged to be one of the most trusted and respected arbiters of excellence in the art of short filmmaking. Shorts screened at Hot Docs fulfill an important eligibility criterion for entry to the BAFTA British Short Film and British Short Animation categories at the EE British Academy Film Awards.

Deadline CPH:DOX – International Documentary Film Festival–late deadline, genuri acceptate: filme documentare de scurt, mediu și lung metraj care au fost finalizate după 15 septembrie 2016; formate acceptate: DCP, Blu-ray, 35mm and 16mm; 16 – 26 martie 2017, Copenhaga  (mai multe detalii)

Au prioritate filmele care sunt în premieră națională sau internațională. Nu sunt eligibile filmele care au fost deja prezentate înDanemarca.

Sections and competitions:
The Festival selects films for six international competitions and for a number of non-competitive sidebars. The six competitions are:
* DOX:AWARD
International main competition for feature length documentaries.
* NEW:VISION AWARD
Experimental and artists’ films (shorts, midlength films and features).
* NORDIC:DOX AWARD
Non-fiction films from the Nordic/Scandinavian countries.
* F:ACT AWARD
Films in the field between investigative journalism and documentary filmmaking.
* THE POLITIKEN AUDIENCE AWARD
Handed out to one of 10 nominated films with potential for distribution.
* DOC ALLIANCE AWARD
For documentaries selected by the member festivals of Doc Alliance.

Prizes:
The winning film in each competition is selected by different juries. Each prize goes to the director(s) of the winning films and is a cash prize of 5.000 euros. In addition to the prize the juries can give a Special Mention in the four main CPH:DOX competition categories.
